Friday, June 12

Today we worked on our butterfly writing.
Some of us finished!

Mrs. Reimer read us a story about summer.
Summer comes after what season?
Ask me what I notice about the words in this poem.
What do I love about summer?
 Where do we find dandelions?

Ask me to count the days we have left in school.
What day will it be on Monday...

Centre time learning!

We read a book about the season we are in right now.
 Spring is after what season...
Why does the snow melt?
What is a baby deer called... a fawn.
Where were the worms living all winter?
Ask me to name these baby animals...
bunnies, ducklings...
 chicks, piglets and lambs.
Hm, I wonder what the life cycle of a frog is...

We read...
Ask me what we learned.
An eagle can beat its wings once in a second.
A hummingbird beats its wings 50 times in a second!
A bumblebee beats its wings 200 times!
Which animal is faster...
Wow, a black mamba slithers 7 metres in one second!
Ask me how long that is... we measured it in class.
A human can blink seven times in a second.
Ask me how many times I can blink in a second.
I can show you...
In one minute, an elephant's heart beats 30 times.
How many times does my heart beat? 100 times.
Does my heart beat more or less than an adult?
A hamster's heart beats 450 times per minute!
What would happen if ours beat that fast?
We saw how many jumping jacks we could do in a minute!

We can do around 50 in one minute.

We counted by ones to 65 in a minute.
We counted by twos to 100 in a minute.

Ask me to try these at home!

We did some Go Noodle exercise with Maximo.
