Classroom Gardens are ready to Harvest

- Tuesday, June 23 @ 10 am we will offer each student the opportunity to choose from a variety of vegetables to make their own pita

-students will eat their pita with their classmates and their teachers just before recess

-this is a snack; it will not replace a lunch

-we will harvest our tomatoes, lettuce, basil and beans from the classroom gardens

 

-the following is a list of other food choices that will be offered:

Pita

Cucumbers

Lettuce

Tomatoes

Mustard

Mayo

Hummus

Cheese – shredded marble

 

-if there ingredients you do NOT want you child to eat please contact the teacher

-if you observe Ramadan we can put the pita in a bag for your child to bring home, please let the teacher know

 Maddie shared that fog reminded her of steam when her mom is cooking! 

 What are the drops of water called... dew (or dew drops). 

 These are asparagus spears.

 I can explain the life cycle of a frog...

 and a plant!

 What is happening in the sky?

 Some of us worked on details (flowers, insects and rainbows) for our artwork.

 Ask me about the special eyes different animals have! 

 What other insects have compound eyes?

 A slug can detect light with their eyes. 
What other creature can detect light... worms!

 How are a snail's eyes different from our eyes?

 Wow! How big is each of a squid's eyes? 
...as big as a basketball!

 Butterflies can see some colours that even we can't see! 
This helps them... find flowers.

In gym we did zig-zag relays.
