-Monday, June 8th from 12:00-12:45 Brenda from Community Partnerships with the City of Calgary
will be at the school to survey students
She will be asking students the following questions:
-What do you like about your neighbourhood?
-What don’t you like about your neighbourhood?
-What would you like to see in your neighbourhood?

-Spend some time discussing these questions as a family so you can make a difference in your community.
-This is voluntary.  Students will share their opinions only if they choose.

Today we worked on the letter X!
Ask me what words have an x in them...
We read a book for number 10!
How many dots on the left page... the right page...
How many dots altogether?
How many dots are in each group?
How many dots altogether?
I can count the dots by two!
How many dots on the left page... right page...
How many dots are there altogether?
I can count the wheels by two!
 How many balloons are there...
How many dots on one page... the other page...
We practiced breaking apart the number ten.
Ask me how I did it.

 Two groups of five...
We tried making groups of three.
What happened?
 We made groups of two!
How many groups of two are there...

 Hamid finished his ten page!
We read a book about bees.
How do bees work?
 ...they collect pollen from... flowers!
What does the pollen help grow... crops, other flowers, plants and trees.
Ask me where the rhymes are... high and sky.
 How many blossoms are there?
I can count the petals.
How many clovers are there?
I can count the trees by two!
 How many tulips are there...
How many orange tulips, yellow tulips, pink and purple tulips are there?
Without bee pollen, what would happen?
...we wouldn't have food to eat (because the crops wouldn't grow).
We read a book about being thankful.
Ask me what I'm thankful for...
We counted the dragonfly wings by two.
Simba noticed that the girls sees her reflection in the water!
Good observation.
What are some things we can be thankful for in this picture...
Why is it important to be thankful?
...it helps us be happy people!
The more thankful we are, the happier we are!
Some of us finished our writing about what we are thankful for.
