Wednesday, June 3

Today we started writing about what we are thankful for.
Ask me what I'm thankful for!
What does it mean to be unique?
...we are all different and special!

I can count the bubbles!
How can you make your friends smile?
Ask me to count the wheels by twos...
I can count the fish. How many are there in each group?
What kind of gifts can we give family and friends?
3 and 3 and 3 make... 9!
Nine small fish plus one big fish equals... ten!

We read about the differences and similarities between butterflies and moths.
Ask me what I learned.

 Butterflies and moths are... insects.
Insects have how many legs?
How many body parts?
What do moths do with their wings when they are resting?
What do butterflies do with their wings when they are resting?
How many legs do caterpillars have? Six!
It looks like caterpillars have more legs because they have stumps called prolegs.
What do prolegs do?
Prolegs help caterpillars hold on to leaves and branches.
What happens to the butterfly and moth's tongue when they aren't using it...
...it curls up!
What are some predators of butterflies and moths...
What does a predator mean?
How do butterflies and moths protect themselves?
Some butterflies and moths sleep through the winter.
This is called... hibernation!
What other animals hibernate...

Other butterflies and moths fly away in the winter.
This is called... migration!

We finished our beautiful butterfly art.
Ask me about the life cycle.

 Daniel finished his nine page.
How can we break apart nine?
 We read a book about...
 Ask me what I learned.
What is special about mammals...
 Which mammals only eat plants?
...which only eat meat?
...which eat both meat and plants?
 What is the fastest mammal?
...the slowest mammal?
What does the word 'gargantuan' mean?
What is the biggest mammal?
Who is the smartest mammal?

We read some books for X.
Ask me what sound X makes...
How many bones are in her hand?
An adult has 27 bones. How many more bones do adults have than kids...
This x-ray showed that a child was kept safe on his bike with his helmet!
What does a helmet protect... our heads and our brain.
Ask me where the x is...

Where would you see this sign?

We watched a video about the life cycle of Painted Lady butterflies
(that is what we have)
Watch this with me by clicking here.
